VOLUNTEER Do you love animals? Would you like to make a real difference in the lives of those who have have no one else? Join us in our efforts! Your time and talents will save lives. Starting Over Animal Rescue is an all-volunteer run organization that helps more than 1,000 homeless animals find loving permanent homes each year. There are many ways for you to get involved, requiring different levels of time commitment. Become a Foster Home All the animals in our care stay in foster homes and we are always looking for suitable and loving families who will open their homes and their hearts to our animals. As a foster family, you may care for:
Fostering is the volunteer position that requires the most significant commitment, both of your time and energy - but the love and wags or purrs you will get in return is well worth the work. SOAR provides all the food, toys, supplies and medical care so you can focus on the fun stuff such as play time and ear scratches. Drivers Needed We are always looking for volunteers to help us transport animals and pick up supplies and donations. If you have a flexible schedule and a reliable vehicle, this is a great way to help the homeless animals in our community. Between vet visits, visits to the groomers, picking up animals who have just been surrendered to us, assisting with the delivery of an animal who have just been adopted and pick up of supplies and donations, we get around and about. Your assistance in this area would be tremendously helpful Event Volunteers We attend many events each month to promote adoption and to give the public the opportunity to meet the wonderful animals in our care. If you like to talk to people and like to promote adoption and compassion for shelter and rescue animals, this would be a great fit for you. Other As an all-volunteer run organization, we are always in need of help on various tasks in a myriad of areas. If you have a talent, whether it be data entry, book keeping, sewing or something else, or you would just like to help out with the daily care of the animals, call us. We would love you help. Let us know what you would like to do and we will go through the application, time commitment needed and describe the responsibilities of each position in more detail. To volunteer with SOAR you need to be 18 years old. If you plan on becoming a foster parent, you need to own your home, or have permission from your landlord to have animals on the premises. |
